The Story : Stardate 49011.4. A flotilla of Klingon ships decloak without warning and a General Martok tells Sisko and Kira that Gowron has sent him to support their Federation allies against the Dominion. There are also rumours of civil uprisings on Cardassia since the defeat of the Obsidian Order. Trouble flares when Klingons are openly hostile to Garak and Odo, and then attempt to search any ships leaving the station to check for changelings. Sisko realises they need help and aks for Lt. Commander Worf. The Klingon however is since the destruction of the Enterprise no longer sure he belongs in Starfleet. He finds out that the Klingons are planning to invade Cardassia because they believe the Government has been replaced with Changelings. When the Federation disapproves of Gowron's actions, he ends the Khitomer Peace Treaty.

The Story : Torn between his duty and his people, Worf declines Gowron's offer to join him, prompting Gowron to excommunicate Worf's entire family. Worf then attempts to resign from Starfleet, but Sisko refuses to accept his resignation at this critical time. Sisko decides it's time to speak with Dukat, now part of the new government, and tells him that he will help escort the ruling council out of the war zone, even though, as Worf points out, he might actually be helping the Dominion. Sisko, Worf, Dax, and Bashir take the Defiant to a rendezvous point, where Dukat's ship is under heavy fire. The Defiant decloaks and prepares to attack the Klingons, ending two decades of peace. While engaged in battle with the Klingon vessels, Sisko and his officers beam aboard the Cardassians, losing the Defiant's cloaking device in the process. They head back to the station with two Klingon ships in pursuit, while Bashir tests the blood of the council members to make sure they aren't Changelings. When they finally reach Deep Space Nine, several dozen Klingon ships arrive ready to attack.

They are taken prisoner by a small group of Jem'Hadar warriors. Their leader Goran'Agar stranded on this planet three years ago and discovered he could live without White, a drug that all Jem'Hadar need to survive. The same however has not happened to his men and he wants Bashir to find whatever it was that 'cured' him. O'Brien however feels that their ownly chance for survival is escaping.

The Story : An old friend from the Bajoran resistance sends word to Kira that he may have a clue to the whereabouts of the Ravanok - a Cardassian ship carrying Bajoran prisoners which went missing six years ago. Sisko alows her to take a Runabout to go look for the ship but she gets the company of a Cardassian 'observer', Gul Dukat. They find the wreckage of the Ravanok on a hot and dusty planet and discover that the Bajorans and Cardassians were taken prisoner by the Breen. Gul Dukat however seems to be on this mission for personal reasons.

The Story : Stardate 49195.5. Sisko feels compelled to warn Dax that a visiting Trill science team will be led by Dr. Lenara Kahn, a joined Trill whose symbiont was married to Dax' symbiont when both were in previous hosts. Since the point of joining is to accumulate as many different experiences as possible, it is considered unnatural and wrong to 'reassociate' with the life one had in a previous host. Those who break this rule are exiled from the Trill homeworld, which is a sentence of death for the symbiont as there will be no new hosts. Sikso suggests that Dax take some leave time, but she insists she can handle the situation.

The Story : Stardate 49263.5. The Defiant is hosting a secret meeting in the Gamma Quadrant between Quark and Minister Hanok of the Karemma. Sisko used the Ferengi to open trade relations with the Karemma to avoid the Dominion hostility to the Federation. Quark however has taken advantage of the situation by inventing several taxes. The soon have bigger problems when two Jem'Hadar ships arrive who go after the Karemma vessel. Sisko is determinded to protect the Karemma and plunges his ship into the turbulent atmosphere of a gas giant.

They wake up in Roswell, New Mexico. It's July 1947 and the US Army thinks they are Martians...

The Story : The old Klingon warrior Kor has come to see Dax, his blood brother. He meets Worf and tells him he is on a quest which will surpass anything previously. Kor, full of bloodwine, rambles on about an object of incalculable value thought lost forever leading Worf to guess that Kor thinks he has found the Sword of Kahless, the personal weapon of the great warrior. It doesn't take long before they find the sword, but once they have it, neither seems willing to share the credit and they become more and more hostile towards each other.

Led by Eddington, the staff in Ops tries to beam them all out, but their patterns fail to materialise once the Runabout explodes. Eddington orders their patterns and neural signatures to be saved in any available space. Meanwhile, Bashir is not at all pleased when Garak intrudes in his new holosuite program - a fantasy in which he is a dashing secret agent. On top of that he finds that his KGB contact, Colonel Anastasia looks a lot like Major Kira...

The Story : Stardate 49170.65. The whole station is buzzing with speculation because the wormhole has been opening and closing at random for hours, without any ships coming through to account for it. Sisko receives a message that two days ago 27 people were killed when a bomb exploded at a highlevel diplomatic conference between Federation and Romulan officials. Close examination of a tape showing the meeting area just before the explosion reveals a decorative urn starting to change shape. It would seem the Changelings have reached Earth and Sisko and Odo are called to Earth to consult on their knowledge of fighting the Dominion. Sisko seizes the oppertunity to visit his sick father.

The Story : Sabotage of the planetary power grid has prompted a planet-wide Starfleet alert against a possible changeling attack. It is feared that a cloaked war fleet may have come throught the wormhole when it behaved oddly. There are Starfleet patrols in all cities and widescale bloodtestings begins. The sense of emergency is so widespread that even Joseph Sisko is now happy to be tested, although he had adamantly refused before. When there appears to be no Dominion attack at all, Sisko suspects that the power grid was sabotaged by someone else than the Changelings.

The Story : Edon Shakaar, First Minister of Bajor, is visiting the station to discuss Bajor's admittance into the Federation. Odo however has learned that the Cardassian extremist group "The True Way" is plotting to assassinate him. Shakaar refuses to move the meetings of the station, so Odo has to provide around the clock security. Doing so he can only watch in misery as Shakaar's advances towards Kira are met with enthusiasm. One assassination attempt fails, but Odo's mind is not really on his job any more.

The Story : Kira boards a freighter, under the command of a demoted Dukat, to the Cardassian outpost to join other Bajorans in sharing Federation information about the Klingons with the Cardassians. The reason for Dukat's demotion is that he spared the life of his half-Bajoran daughter Ziyal who is now living with him onboard the freighter. They find the outpost destroyed by Klingons. For once Kira and Dukat agree, and decide to go after the Bird Of Prey. Kira sets about teaching Dukat how to think like a resistance fighter.

The Story : The Bajoran Time of Cleansing means a big drop in business for Quark. To add to his irritation, Rom is ill and needs time off to see the Doctor. Ferengi labour contracts however do not allow sick leave, ovetime or days off, and now Quark wants to either impose a 1/3 salary cut or fire half the staff. Rom shocks the staff by suggesting they all form a union, although this is an act of blasphemy that could bring the Ferengi Commerce Authority down on them all. Rom stands fast and, when Quark rejects the demands out of hand, takes the employees out on strike. The situation becomes more serious for both brothers when their old adversary, Liquidator Brunt of the FCA, arrives accompanied by two Nausicaan enforcers.

The Story : A centuries-old Bajoran vessel mysteriously exits the wormhole, and its passenger, a legendary Bajoran poet named Akorem Laan, is immediately beamed to the Infirmary. Shocked to learn more than 200 years have passed since he left Bajor, he tells Sisko and Kira that he had an accident in space and was saved by the Bajoran Prophets, which has led him to believe that they have chosen him to be the Emissary. Sisko, never comfortable with the role of Emissary, steps aside to let Akorem assume the revered position. Akorem's first act is to return Bajor to the old ways -- including strict adherence to a restrictive caste system which throws life on the station, and Bajor's relationship with the Federation, into turmoil.

The Story : Stardate 49665.3. Worf faces a hearing to determine whether he should be extradited to the Klingon Empire for destroying a civilian ship. While under Klingon attack, Worf ordered the U.S.S. Defiant to fire on a vessel that decloaked in front of it, apparently unaware that it was a Klingon transport until too late. Ch'Pok, the Klingon Advocate, accuses Worf of negligence brought on by his inherent bloodlust. Sisko, Worf's defense counsel, counters that this was a tragic -- yet unavoidable -- accident. Witnesses implicate Worf, and his life hangs in the balance.

The Story : A shaken O'Brien returns to Deep Space Nine after his mind has been altered to make him believe that he spent the last two decades in prison. Accused of espionage by the Argrathi, he was given the painful memories of a twenty-year incarceration and released before his fellow officers could arrive to stop the punishment. While O'Brien is told what he went through was not real, the memories are too vivid for him to dismiss. When they begin to spill over into reality, O'Brien's false memories threaten his marriage and life on the station.

The Story : Jake can hardly believe his eyes when his father introduces him to a woman who appears and acts exactly like his late mother, Jennifer. Sisko reveals that this is Jennifer -- at least her double from a mirror universe which Sisko once visited, where she was married to his now-dead counterpart. Sisko leaves the two of them alone for awhile. When he returns, Jennifer and Jake are nowhere to be found. All that remains is a small device. Sisko uses it to transport to the mirror universe, appearing on the alternate Deep Space Nine. He is then taken prisoner and told that the rebels of this universe need his help in their fight against the tyrannical Alliance forces, led by Worf.

Unwilling to give away the baby, Lwaxana decides to give birth to him on Deep Space Nine. Meanwhile, a mysterious alien woman named Onaya arrives on the station, telling Jake that she can help him with his writing.

Commander Eddington of Starfleet Security recommend heightened measures to deter both the Klingons and the terrorist group known as the Maquis, then reveal some troubling news -- they believe there is a Maquis smuggler aboard the station, and they have some evidence that the smuggler is Kasidy Yates, Sisko's romantic interest. After hearing the basis for their suspicions, Sisko must order them to investigate the woman he cares for.

The Story : Stardate 49904.2. When a Jem'Hadar strike force attacks the station, Sisko takes Worf, Dax, Odo, and O'Brien with the U.S.S. Defiant and pursues them into the Gamma Quadrant. The crew comes upon a disabled Jem'Hadar warship emitting a distress signal, and transports aboard the survivors. Weyoun, the Jem'Hadar's Vorta master, reveals that they were attacked by the same Jem'Hadar who surprised Deep Space Nine. The attackers are Jem'Hadar Renégades who turned against the Dominion, and may have an extremely powerful weapon in their possession. Forced into an alliance by this new threat, the Jem'Hadar and the crew of the U.S.S. Defiant must stop the rebels and destroy their weapon.

The Story : While traveling in the Gamma Quadrant, Kira, Dax, and Bashir respond to an automated distress call from a planet that the Jem'Hadar destroyed 200 hundred years ago. The attackers contaminated the inhabitants with a terminal disease that is passed on from generation to generation. The disease is called the Blight and when the afflicted is near death - called "the quickening" - the disease becomes extremely painful. Bashir and Dax transport to the planet's surface to help find a cure but are hindered because of lack of trust by the inhabitant's of the planet. Bashir and Dax must not only win the trust of the people but also discover a cure to save the planet.

The Story : Quark returns from a visit to his homeworld of Ferenginar with the distressing news that he has Dorek's Syndrome, an extremely rare disease that should end his life within a week. Since a Ferengi must pay off his debts before he dies, Quark decides to put up his remains for bidding on the Ferengi Futures Exchange to earn the needed latinum. After the sale, Quark discovers he was misdiagnosed by Dr. Orpax and will not die. Now, he must choose between the dishonor of breaking a Ferengi contract and his own death.

The Story : Stardate 49962.4. Odo is rushed to the Infirmary when he suddenly collapses. After a thorough examination, Bashir determines that Odo is losing the ability to maintain his solid form, but is unclear as to why. Despite his protests, Bashir gives the patient strict orders to remain under observation since movement could bring on another attack. Odo, unable to keep from his investigations, ventures out of the Infirmary and promptly collapses into a puddle of goo. His condition worsening, Odo realizes that the only place he can find help is with his people -- the Founders, rulers of the Dominion.
