This movie is an embarassing display of hollywood cashing in on nostalgia. Even if Transformers only were glorified commercials for a special brand of toys, lots of people did take them to their hearts and made a big fuss about them. I enjoyed watching Transformers as a child. But at that time I would watch anything cartoon, so I can't really say anything about my relationship with the show. This movie however was all over the place. Shia LeBitch is supposed to be someone you're supposed to relate to. I dunno how they imagined anyone ever doing that. The guy is about as likable as a wet sponge. The transformers are silly and childish, and the whole movie needs to be watched with the most extreme suspension of disbelief to be even the slightest interesting.

I must admit that I've never watched the TV shows, or read the comics, or collected the toys, but this film is great. If someone, like me, who doesn't know a thing about Transformers can have a blast with this movie, that shows just how great it is. The action never stops, the effects are perfect, and the humor hillarious. This is about as good as a movie based on a bunch of action figures can possibly get!
