One of the most important films in sci-fi history. Japan especially has a lot to thank this film for. The first 'Giant Monster Rampaging in a City' film ever. Ray Harryhausen's effects are great, with the only really bad effect being in the scene where the rhedosaurus eats a live action octopus and shark.

Not bad, but nothing special here. Too much has been made of the fact that it was based on a story by Ray Bradbury. It is not this film's fault that there have been so many other rampaging dinosaurs unleashed on the world's great cities, but the only interesting wrinkle is the fact that the beast in this case is already sick and dying.
