Altered States

Altered States is a strongly acted and skillfully directed love story without being "slushy". The visual images are among the strongest I`ve seen and the story carries the watcher. In particular, the scenes where William Hurts`character regresses to its "primordial state" are captivating, making this a film I`ve watched more than twenty times, each with equal enjoyment.
