ATTACK OF THE 50 FT. WOMAN (1958) * (really ****) Allison Hayes, William Hudson, Yvette Vickers. Truly one of the worst 50's sci-fi flicks ever but the best of the worst: alcoholic heiress Nancy Archer discovers a UFO, tells her philandering hubby Harry only to be dismissed as a nut and after a close encounter becomes a force to be reckoned with! Laughable dialogue, horrendous special effects (check out the finale; what a cheat!) and just plain bad, but my favorite all-time worst cult movie. Best scene: bed-sheet bikini clad five-story high Hayes shaking a rag doll Harry: hypnotically funny. Oh the possibilities that might have been!
