A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away...

The Trade Federation imposed a blockade on the Naboo planet, being thus opposed to the Senate and the Republic. The supreme Chancellor delegate two Jedi knights, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, in order to conclude the negotiations to solve the conflict. But this history of blockade is only one lure: The Federation is on the point of invading Naboo. The Jedi benefit from the invasion's force to escape. They must warn Amidala, the queen of Naboo.

On Naboo, whereas the forces of invasion take seat, Qui-Gon Jinn and his young Padawan meet Jar Jar Binks, whimsical Gungan who carries out them to the Gungan's underwater city. There, Boss Nass will provide them a Bongo, a kind of pocket submarine that will lead them, after some adventures, to the Naboo capital, while passing by the planet's core.

Both Jedi deliver Amidala and embarks her, as her suit, on board a Naboo vessel which takes the Coruscant's cap so that the young queen can go and plead her cause near the Senate. They are forced by technical problems to arise on Tatooine, a desert planet. In the search for hyperdrive T-14 of replacement for the vessel, they meet a surprising little boy, Anakin Skywalker, slave for the account of Watto, local hardware merchant. Qui-Gon Jinn realizes quickly that the force is strong in the young Anakin. He then proposes Watto a deal: The freedom of the child and the hyperdrive of replacement against his vessel. All will have to be played in a Podracers race, powerful prototype vehicles used in terrible races, that Anakin Skywalker will control on behalf of Jedi.

Despite all his efforts to ruin Anakin, Sebulba, the outsider of this race will have to yield the podium to the child. This one is then entrusted to Qui-Gon Jinn and snatch with his mother and his preferred android he built himself: C3PO. After a chaotic departure because of the presence of Dark Maul, apprentice of Dark Sidious lord of Sith, the child is taken along in front of the consulting of the Jedi knights, while the Queen Amidala pleads her cause lost in advance in front of the senate.

The team turns back on Naboo. Amidala elected Jar Jar Binks to require the assistance of Gungan who have refuged in a sanctuary. The Gungans accept and Jar Jar Binks is bombarded General to have joins together Naboo and Gungans. A Gungan army is drawn up against the Federation Trade forces...

Although less powerful, it will hold sufficiently a long time to leave time to a handle of pilots to take seat into vessels and to achieve their goal; the flagship of the Federation which, once neutralized, should make possible to decontaminate all the fighting droids present on Naboo.

On their road, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi meet Dark Maul. While a combat without mercy begins between the two sides of the force, the Young Anakin Skywalker, by a bad manœuvre flies away in a Naboo spacecraft and join the space patrol.

In the fight, Qui-Gon Jinn is killed by Dark Maul. Obi-Wan Kenobi will succeed to kill this last. With the assistance of the Force and a little chance, Anakin Skywalker will destroy the flagship. The effect is immediate, the fighting droids cease all activity, the battle is gained. After the funeral of Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, now a Jedi knight, is seen entrusting a new task: to train the young Anakin Skywalker.
