The near future. In a society where only the strong survive, Philippe was raised by the state after his mother committed suicide. Sophie had a similar life, and eventually he marries her. Philippe becomes a productive member of society. His job: performing sadistic tests on employees in order to separate the strong from the weak. Philippe hides his feelings behind a façade of social success, but Sophie is harbouring a resentment against the system. Philippe is faced with a devilish dilemma. (Image Film Festival)
