While Simon Trent, a geophysicist makes some work on Mount Pious near Whitney in California, he is victim of a large storm during of which he sees strange people walking in the snow and a man appearing and disintegrating in a lightning. He becomes convinced that aliens plan to invade the earth. His nephew, Jake, escapes an assailant who kills his mother after she gave him a video tape containing the proof of the alien existence.
