Outland

O’Niel arrives on lo, the third moon of Jupiter, where a mining base has been breaking records in the production of titanium. As a Federal Security Service Marshal, O’Niel has to supervise law and order among the two thousand or so inhabitants. He discovers a company-operated drug racket that boosts the work output of the miners but which also drive them completely insane.

This drug is also responsible for the record number of suicides and psychotic attacks which have afflicted the base. This terrifying discovery makes him and his family the target of contract killers who are prepared to go to any lengths to keep the status quo.
