The Time Machine

(The Time Machine)

Synopsis

London, 31 December 1899. Herbert George Wells, an inventor, stumbles into the parlour of his home, where his friends are waiting for him. George is distraught, exhausted, ragged. Nevertheless, he begins to recount an incredible tale...

Five days earlier, George had attempted, during a meeting with these same colleagues, to demonstrate that time-travel has become possible thanks to a machine of his own invention. His friends are skeptical, but after their departure, the inventor returns to his laboratory, where his time machine awaits. He climbs inside and gently pushes its control lever forward, in the direction of the future...
