Dan Reilly has done his best to save his modest farm. Near bankruptcy, he allows his cattle to be submitted to DNA experiments, under the control of the local veterinarian Orla, his former girlfriend. During a routine examination, Orla discovers disturbing anomalies and alerts her boss, John.
