Sure, the film is good looking and has a very interesting concept that was good enough to make a successfull TV show, but its characters and plot devices are a bit cliched (a world featuring humans as slaves to an alien race has been used for numerous films and stories). The plot is a bit predictable, and the domesticated creature that the crew encounters early in the film is rather silly.
