Rocketship X-M

Thoroughly enjoyed this film. I kept half-expecting Lloyd Bridges to bust out one of his "I picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue" lines, but no such luck. I liked the very 'exploratory' nature of the film. By this, I mean that they really are on a quick exploration mission. They accidentally head towards Mars (originally destined for the Moon), but decide it's best for mankind if they try to glimpse the red planet anyways, as it is our closest sibling, the planet most likely to contain life. No sooner do they land, that they do indeed encounter life on Mars, appearing as brutal savages who immediately drive our heros back to their ship and off to space and home.
