This one is based on a game title. And if it isnt its an amazing coinsidence since names from from the games appear. There are 8 games that I counted that are made bu that title but the movie has no story connected to the game and its a shame because the games especially "Final Fantasy8" have a movie script in their story lines. FF8 has the most acceptible to me and the most fun. But back to the actuall movie itself awesome animation best in history and still unbeat by what I saw in other movie. A sequall? Defenitley but make it based on a game this time, and choose FF8 but make it a normall movie with real people Youll see it will be the graetest movie ever. If its directed by great directors like Spielberg or Cammrey.

2 - 10/20 Anthony Ponte

I'm not really into Sci Fi, BUT this movie changed everything. I don't understand why critics disliked it? Then again who likes critics? Even if the plot was complex the animation was incredible. The characters were so close to real sometimes I forgot I that I was watching computer characters. I loved this movie and so did my family. A must see. Hope to see more movies like this.

Though it seems there are some similarities to Battlefield Earth (ship designs, city,) the overall production is original - especially the halographic interfaces. (Now why haven't the makers of Star Trek thought of that one?).Standard plot formula found in similar productions, but that's OK by me. While hardware animation is impressive, the most incredible scene was "the kiss". Attention to detail and animation in that sequence should make movie history! I've seen a lot of animation...that one will be difficult to beat. The movie is a "must see". --MKrumm--
