The Story

«There is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are now controlling the transmission. We control the horizontal and the vertical. We can deluge you with a thousand channels or expand one single image to crystal clarity and beyond. We can shape your vision to anything our imagination can conceive. For the next hour we will control all that you see and hear. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the deepest inner mind to the outer limits.»

Just as its older sister, the series broadcasted in the 60', it is by these words, deep, full of senses and scary that begins each episode of "The Outer Limits". It concerns a resumption that has preserved the original spirit of the series by adapting it the technology of the 90'.

"The Outer Limits" is not only a terrifying sci-fi series but it is also scary. It transforms classic human fears in new dimensions. All episodes cast humans and most of them take place on Earth. By the mix of science-fiction and human emotions, usual conflicts (aliens, robots, unknown life forms) are highlighted and much more interesting.

The series is not recurrent. We meet different characters in each episode. Since each episode is different from another (with few exceptions) everything can happen, the hero can succeed in his mission as he can fail in. Several episodes possibly cannot answer to the problems exposed. It belongs to you and your imagination to do the rest, to develop the theme, to lead your own reflection on the topic.

Episode
"I Robot"
with Leonard Nimoy

"The Outer Limits" equally casts prestigious actors. Some were already stars from the original series. It is for example the case for Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock in Star Trek) who replays his character in the episode "I Robot", remake of the episode "I Robot", broadcasted in 1964. This episode was the first to be adapted from the original series. Other followed, such as "Feasibility Study", a remake of the episode "A Feasibility Study" in which alien experiment human slavery or the episode "Nightmare", another one adapted from the original series dedicated to the memory of Leslie Stevens who died April 24, 1998. He was an executive producer and director of the original Outer Limits.

In the US, the series was first aired on the network channel Showtime.
